Marriage Retreat part two

Marriage Retreat went great! I have extra copies of the book "Love and Respect." That was given out at the retreat. If you would like a copy let me know the cost is almost half-price! This is a good book and would be helpful for any couple desiring to grow in the marriage. BTW That should be every couple.

I have mentioned to a few people that I like John Wimber. Here is a great link in youtube of his testimony. It is broke down into 8 sections so it is rather long. However, you can break it into sections, first about how he got saved and the second about how he grew in his ministry.

New Book for Church

After a lot of consideration and prayer I have finally picked our new book! Bill Hybels Holy Discontent. I do not plan on spending a full service on "Faith Like Potatoes" just making it apart of our up coming mid-week service.
Let me know in the comment section if you plan to purchase this book yourself. I will be ordering some copies for the church soon.

As for "faith like potatoes" I thought it was a perfect example of "first generation faith". He took the word at face value and went with it. We miss out on so much because we refuse to believe the full word. This is a great starting point for our "first generation church" thinking.

Looking Forward

I am looking forward to a number of things all while enjoying the day. My Dad is coming to visit for the first time here in Iowa. This Sunday's service should be filled with new people, plus I just love Sunday! I have so much information to teach in the coming months I know it will produce fruit. We are going online! full streaming video! That will allow more people to be apart of what God is doing at FCC. I can go on and on because God is working! Be apart of what is good.

I want to recommend a book "2000 years of Charismatic Christianity" I know I have recommend this before, but I am still not sure everyone is reading it. This book will give you so many starting points to learn from that is what makes it great. Remember, God says SEEK ME. He is calling you to look for Him and learn about Him yourself. So many people sit back and think being a christian is just going to church and being nice to people. Being a Christian is being a person who is seeking God!
Back to looking forward, I am looking forward to finding out more.
